MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers edged the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-4 at American Family Field on Wednesday night.
Jake Bauers slugged a solo homer while Jackson Chourio went two-for-three with an RBI.
Joel Payamps was credited with the victory after pitching an inning and a third of scoreless relief. Devin Williams secured his second save of the season after striking out one batter in a scoreless top of the ninth.
With the win, Milwaukee snapped a three-game skid to remain first in the NL Central at 68-52.
The Dodgers, meanwhile, had their five-game win streak snapped with the loss.
Enrique Hernandez, Teoscar Hernandez, Kevin Kiermaier and Miguel Rojas each had an RBI in the setback.
Brent Honeywell was charged with his first loss after giving up one unearned run through two innings of relief.
The Brewers will try to earn a split in the series which will conclude on Thursday afternoon.
