Vehicle entries in the Village of Cleveland are again being investigated by the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office. One month after similar entries were first reported, vehicles were hit in the overnight hours, this time between midnight and 4 a.m. this past Friday morning. Social media posts suggest that repeated entries seem to occur every few weeks, with a different area of the village struck each time.
The Sheriff is asking Cleveland residents to check their security cameras for images of any suspicious vehicles or persons on foot in the village during those hours and to contact Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Detective Nate Steber or Crimestoppers with the information.
Meanwhile, the Sheriff is urging people to turn off and lock their vehicles, and take the keys whenever they’re unattended, and to keep valuables out of sight in the car and take them into the home when you arrive. It’s also advised to park in a well-lit area at night and use air-tags so you can track larger items if stolen.
