With the 2nd Annual Midwest Challenge powerboat racing weekend now underway, the Office of the Mayor sent out reminders today of some of the impacts that will result from the races and surrounding activities.
During the Friday night block party the following roads will be closed from 4-11 p.m.:
Both North 7th and 8th Streets from Center to Niagara Avenues
New York Avenue from North 8th to 6th Streets
Wisconsin Avenue from North 7th to 6th Streets
Roads Closed for the duration of activities (7 a.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Sunday):
Broughton Drive from Pennsylvania to Ontario Avenues
Pennsylvania Avenue from North 4th Street to the eastern terminus
Also, Lakeshore Drive will be closed between Clara and Ashland Avenues from 7 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday until conclusion of the days’ events.
Also, the South Pier Drive circle will remain closed between 7 a.m. Friday until the close of the event on Sunday – concluding awards ceremonies commence at 5 p.m.
From Lakeview Drive to the road’s end, South Pier Drive will close at 7 a.m. Saturday and remain closed through the event’s conclusion on Sunday.
The northbound lane of South Pier Drive fromFisherman’s Row to Lakeview Drive will also close both Saturday and Sunday at 7 a.m., but reopen following each day’s events.
