MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — What former President Donald Trump will say tonight has been the talk of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee all week.
Wisconsin delegates will have a front row seat inside Fiserv Forum for his address.
Delegates are low on sleep at this point and probably missing home a little bit, but they say they are amped up as ever to hear from Trump.
Trump campaign’s deputy communications director, Caroline Sunshine, said he will have a hopeful, winning, Make America Great Again type address.
She says now more than ever, the former President understands how high the stakes are for the country.
Delegates from our area say they expect nothing less.
“Ultimately what this is about is how do we take America back to where she was, return to those roots and also again from the perspective of there is a bright future in front of us,” said George Bureau, a ’24 RNC delegate from Neenah. “That’s what I’m looking for, those messages, which I think we’ll her. I’m looking forward to it.”
As for Democrats, Ben Wikler, the chair of Wisconsin’s party, says Trump has come to Wisconsin and made big promises before that haven’t come true.
“Here is Wisconsin we had a front row seat to an iconic Donald Trump failure,” said Wikler. “It was the Foxconn Plant. Donald Trump came to Wisconsin. He promised the 8th wonder of the world. They spent more than $500 million in taxpayer money to pave the way for a massive facility that never appeared.”
Trump is scheduled to speak from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
