Rochelle “Shelley” Bagemehl, 65, of Kiel, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center in
Sheboygan after a courageous battle with cancer. Shelley was born March 18, 1959, to Lenore (Hallada)
Koutsky and the late James Koutsky. She graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1978 and from LTC
with an Associates Degree in marketing. On September 13, 2008, she married Jim Bagemehl at the
Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin. Jim then moved to Kiel and together raised Shelley’s youngest
child Julia. Having lost his first wife Laura in 2005 Shelley quickly became a part of Jim’s extended family
which only got stronger as the years passed.
Shelley was employed by Chizek Transport, Shellbell Transport and Morelle Transfer as a dispatcher.
She also worked at Log Cabin, Parker Johns and Throwback Supper Club as a baker, creating the most
unique and delicious desserts.
Shelley thoroughly enjoyed baking, cooking and her time bartending at Millhome and Harvey’s Q’s
Quarters. She was very social and made many friends, with whom she loved to spend time with outside
and going out to her favorite supper clubs for dinner.
Truth be told, above all her grandchildren lit up her world and would always be the main topic of any
conversation. She loved them with all of her heart.
In addition to her mother, Lenore and her husband, Jim, she is survived by her children, Joey Wightman,
Adam Wightman and Julia (Alix) McCandless; her step-children Billy Wendorf and Mike (Jennifer)
Wendorf; her grandchildren, Xander and Lulu McCandless, Wilder Wightman, Eliza, Harrison and Griffin
Wendorf; her sister, Renee Montes her children Jonathan Montes and Travis Risse; her brother, Richard
Koutsky; her brothers-in-law, Jerome Bagemehl, Donald Bagemehl, David Bagemehl, Kenneth Bagemehl
and Kevin Bagemehl and their families; her very extended Kolodzinski family and her previous husbands,
Jon Wightman and Donn Wendorf. She is further survived by her niece, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A celebration of Shelley’s life will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Millhome Supper Club (16524
Lax Chapel Rd, Kiel) from 10:30 a.m. until ???
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name to be used for her medical
expenses.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Nicholas Gustafson and the staff of the Vince
Lombardi Cancer Center and the doctors and staff of Aurora Medical Center, Aurora BayCare and Aurora
