The traditional Salvation Army bells of the holiday season will be replaced by bicycle bells when the organization holds its summer fundraiser in a few weeks. The Salvation Army of Sheboygan County has announced its 10th annual Salvation Ride will take place on July 13th, marking a decade of community support and generosity. Funds raised during the event, the largest outside of the Christmas season, will support essential services such as the homeless shelter, food pantry, wellness clinic, and other vital programs for area residents in need.
Over the past nine years, the Salvation Ride has raised over a half million dollars, and the goal this year would add another $75,000 to meet increasing demands for services. Lieutenant Heather Gladney of the Sheboygan post expressed gratitude for every rider, sponsor and volunteer that plays a crucial role in making a difference in the lives of those served.
Registration for the ride is now open online, with rates reduced by $10 in each category until July 12th when rates vary from $45 to $60 depending upon which of four divisions are chosen, or you can register on event day for full price beginning at 6:30 a.m..
