Virginia M. Neumeister, “Ginny”, age 99, passed away on June 19, 2024, in Sheboygan, WI. She was a life-long resident of Sheboygan and was born on August 19, 1924, to Albert and Anna Lipps Beiersdorf. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Martha Brooks Neumeister, her grandchildren, Charles, Megan (Christopher Brueningsen), Anne (Steven) DiMauro, her great grandchildren Owen, Sam, Luca, and Meredith, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Neumeister, her son, James Neumeister, her parents, her brothers Francis and Curtis, and her sister, Rosalind Schuttey.
Ginny graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1942. She was employed at H.C. Prange Company in her early years. She enjoyed 25 years of employment with the Sheboygan School District as a teaching assistant in Special Education at James Madison School.
Ginny was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for 25 years, sang in the church choir, held offices in the Ladies Guild, and served on the Altar Guild and the Cradle Roll. She also volunteered at the American Red Cross Blood Bank and the Bethesda Thrift Store.
She was a member of Shoreline Women’s Club as well as a former member of the Edgewater Garden Club. She enjoyed a good bridge game, maintaining her garden, travel, crafts, and ceramics at the Sheboygan Senior Center.
On January 12, 1946, she married Walter A. Neumeister at Immanuel Lutheran Church. They celebrated 68 years together before he passed away in 2014.
Ginny maintained a positive, fun-loving outlook along with her very strong faith all her life. She could always be counted on to bake cookies and play board games with the youngsters in her family, to wake up first on Christmas, and to manage all of life’s challenges with humor as well as reliable common sense.
Funeral Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1614 South 23rd Street, Sheboygan, on Wednesday, June 26th at 11 AM. The viewing will be at the church beginning at 10 AM. Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Entombment will take place at the Sheboygan Lutheran Cemetery Mausoleum. Gifts in Ginny’s memory may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Sharon S. Richardson Hospice.
