Nobody was reported injured when a single-engine aircraft had to make an emergency landing in a field near the airport on Sunday afternoon. The Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center received 911 calls at around 2:08 p.m. Sunday with reports that the airplane had gone down.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the plane had suffered some type of engine malfunction or failure which required the pilot to make an emergency landing. There were three persons onboard, and no injuries were indicated.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, along with Fire Departments from the Town of Sheboygan Falls and Johnsonville responded, as did the Town of Falls Jaws, First responders, and Orange Cross Ambulance.
The Federal Aviation Administration is now conducting an investigation into the incident.
