A call from St. Nicholas Hospital concerning an individual wounded by gunfire led Sheboygan Police to investigate what appears to have been a large disturbance between individuals known to each other. Little information was available concerning the exact details of the shooting, but the Sheboygan Police Department said that they were called to St. Nicholas Hospital at 10:49 p.m. Saturday to investigate a gunshot to a 17-year-old male being treated there. The victim was last reported in stable condition.
Investigating officers went to the 1100 Block of Illinois Avenue, where they learned that a large disturbance between individuals believed to be known to each other had led to the gunfire. The male being treated at St. Nicholas was the only one struck.
The Sheboygan Police Department is continuing its investigation, and if anyone has additional information they are encouraged to call the SPD’s non-emergency number at 920-459-3333.
