Patricia “Pat” A. Aleff, age 86, of Sheboygan, went home to eternal life on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at her home. She was born in Sheboygan on December 13, 1937, to the late Lester and Eleanor Dhein Long.
Pat attended St. Mary’s Academy in Prairie du Chein, WI, graduating in 1956. She then furthered her education at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee. On February 11, 1961, she was united in marriage to James “Jim/Smiley” Aleff at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Jim preceded her in death on July 17, 2020.
Pat was a proud homemaker and secretary in the Sheboygan School District. She was a volunteer at the Salvation Army, and a member of St. Dominic Catholic church, where she participated in church and funeral choir, liturgy planning, and administrative services. Pat enjoyed reading, traveling, camping, her card club, and bowling.
Survivors include her two children, Steven Aleff, of Las Vegas, NV, and Kaye (Jason) Wyn-Givens, of Cambria, WI; a granddaughter, Crystal (Adam) Dobbs; one great-grandson, Greysen; and her brother, James (Barbara) Long, of Henderson, Nevada. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a granddaughter, Mikala Moon.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2136 N. 21st Street, Sheboygan with Fr. Phillip Reifenberg officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Wednesday afternoon (June 26) from 12:00 p.m. until the time of Mass at 2:00 p.m.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to Compassus Hospice Care and Home Instead caregivers for the compassion and care that was given to Pat.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Pat’s name, with generous donations going to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and St. Dominic Catholic Parish in Sheboygan.
