Boris Terlecky, of Sheboygan Falls, born on May 23, 1925, in Krechowice, Poland, (now west Ukraine) passed away at the age of 99 on June 5, 2024. Boris attended local schools in Poland until 1939, when World War II began, and the (formally) Soviet Union took control. The family was thrown out of their home and consequently fled to Boris’s mother’s family home. Boris’s family then separated and later escaped to the German-occupied part of Poland. At the end of WWII, Boris reunited with his parents and sister in Munich, Germany, and completed his college degree in mechanical engineering.
Boris came to the U.S. in 1951, became a U.S. citizen in 1958, and held various engineering jobs. He was a member of the Association of American Railroad, and he served on the Car Construction Committee. Boris was an inventor of the rail car and other railway equipment. He obtained more than 20 patents (owned by the company). Boris retired as Director of Engineering and Research at TTX Company in Chicago in 1995.
Boris traveled the world extensively during his lifetime. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Maria; his first wife and mother of his children, Anna (1988); his second wife, Helga (2014); sister, Cris; daughters, Petra and Ricarda; son, Anthony; granddaughter, Alexis; and special companion Karen. He is survived by his sons, Nicholas and Christopher Terlecky; daughters, Karina Alberts and Anita Innerarity; stepdaughter, Martina Brockway; stepsons, Mark Brockway and Klaus Parmo Jensen; grandchildren, Sean, Natasha, Patricia, Kristi-Lynn, Terry Jr., Brittany, Sebastian, Chelsea, Jordan, Michelle; step grandchildren Rumeur Timble and Kayin Timble; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express our deepest thanks and appreciation for the loving care and kindness given to Boris by his faithful friend Roxana Morgan, as well as the compassionate staff at LakeHouse and Compassus Hospice.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Boris’s arrangements.
