Beatrice Ploetz

Beatrice B Ploetz, 94 of Sheboygan passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024. She was born on March 12, 1930, to Edgar and Leone (Karstaedt) Burgdorff.  Beatrice married her high school sweetheart, Francis Ploetz on August 12, 1950. They shared 65 years together before his death in 2015.

Our mother loved to knit, having donated over 2000 pairs of mittens through several area charities. She was an avid collector of Salt and Pepper Shakers, with a collection of over 14,000 pairs. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, at North Bay in Door County at her cottage. Later in life she enjoyed winters with our father in Mesa, Arizona. 

As children, many of us were fortunate to have our mom as our Den Mother for Cub Scouts, Troop Leader for Girl Scouts, Chaperone or Room Mom for our classes at Holy Name School. She helped organize church picnics and many Chili Suppers with our Dad for Holy Name Church.
Beatrice is survived by her twelve children. Monica (James) Ansay, Mary (Phil) Fox, Diane (Al) Breit, David (Tracy), Craig, Brian (Mary Jo), Carol (Dan) Loos, Dennis (Kim), Eric (Diane), Martha (Mark) Jacobs, Helen (Gordon) Stanskas, and Kurt (Heidi).  She is further survived by 34 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a grandson, a great-grandson, a daughter-in-law, Vicky and her sister, Lee Kapitan.

 

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 818 Huron Ave. Sheboygan.  Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, June 17th at 10:00 AM until the time of mass at the CHURCH.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Beatrice’s name.
