A fire in the Village of Cleveland last month was intentionally started, and the alleged arsonist has been charged.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office reports that the fire occurred on May 26th to a home at 1181 Franklin Drive, drawing numerous fire departments to fight the blaze. During the ensuing investigation, the Sheriff says it was determined that Arson was the cause, leading to the arrest of the suspect, 52-year-old Kristin Dewar of Cleveland.
Dewar was taken into custody without incident, and was charged by the Manitowoc County District Attorney with three counts of Recklessly Endangering Safety and one count of Unsafe Burning of Building. After her bail hearing Dewar was released on a signature bond. The case remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office.
