PHILADELPHIA, PA (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Philadelphia Phillies 3-1 in their series opener from Citizens Bank Park on Monday night.
Rhys Hoskins accounted for the Brewers’ only run when he slugged a solo homer against his former team in the seventh inning.
Bryse Wilson got the loss after giving up all three runs over five-and-two-thirds innings.
For the Phillies, David Dahl slugged a solo homer, while Edmundo Sosa and Johan Rojas also drove in runs. Zack Wheeler earned the win after giving up one run over seven innings as Philly remains first in the NL East at 42-19.
Milwaukee dropped to 36-24, but still leads the NL Central.
Game two of the series takes place Tuesday night with pregame on WHBL beginning at 5:05.
