Virginia “Ginny” M. (Stein) Schulz, age 90, passed away May 26, 2024, at her apartment in Lakehouse, Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She was surrounded by her loving niece Sandra Schneider, and nursing staff of Lakehouse.
Ginny was born in Valders, Wisconsin, on April 12, 1934, to the late Peter and Marie (Meyer) Stein. She graduated from Kiel High School and moved to Sheboygan in 1951.
On October 30, 1954, Ginny was united in marriage to Raymond Schulz at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Wisconsin. They were blessed with two daughters, Lisa and Jean.
Over the years Ginny worked at various places, doing book keeping and clerical work.
Ginny had an incredible faith to the end. She and her husband were members of St. Dominic’s church and volunteered for such things as bringing communion to those unable to attend church services. Ginny and Ray were faithful helpers to their family and friends and, for many years, visited those who were in care facilities. Ginny was a hard worker but in her leisure time enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting, crocheting, and feeding and watching the birds. Ginny and Ray made many connections, memories, and friends, as they traveled to different venues for Ray’s dance jobs as he played with bands for many years. Ray preceded her in death in 2019.
Family meant the world to Ginny and she had a close connection to her family and them to her. She is survived by her daughter Jean (Schulz) Benzine of Silver City, New Mexico; her sisters, Evelyn Ramaker, Yvonne (Glen) Hein; sister-in- law, Margaret Hemb; brother-in-law, Gerald Benzschawel, and many dear nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; daughter, Lisa (Schulz) Rohrer; sister, LaVerne Meyer; sisters in law and brothers in law, Betty Benzschawel, Irene (James) Sprenger, Ralph Schulz, Marvin Hemb, Roland Meyer, and Orlan Ramaker; and her niece, Lori (Ramaker) Suttner, other relatives and friends.
Many thanks to dear family and friends who called and visited Ginny with special thanks to her niece, Sandra Schneider, who was more like a daughter to her than just a niece and to her dear friend Donna E. Also many thanks to her nephew, Michael Meyer and his wife, Chris, and to Sandy’s husband, Kenny Schneider for their all their help.
Per Ginny’s wishes, there will be a private family service. Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Ginny’s arrangements.
