MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers surrendered five runs in the top of the tenth inning during a 6-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs at American Family Field on Tuesday night.
The Brewers didn’t have a hit until the eighth inning, but they tied the game at one-apiece on a Willy Adames RBI single in the bottom of the ninth. However, Chicago erupted in the tenth to give the Brewers the loss.
Trevor Megill was tagged with the loss in relief as Milwaukee dropped to 31-23.
The Cubs snapped a five game losing streak with the win.
Chicago was led by Michael Busch, who was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Ian Happ also drove-in a pair of runs, while Cody Bellinger and Mike Tauchman recorded an RBI apiece. Chicago starting pitcher Ben Brown had 10 strikeouts through seven no-hit frames and Hector Neris earned the win following an inning of relief.
Game three of the four game series is set for Wednesday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 6:05.
