The first summer season holiday weekend in Sheboygan will feature a mixed bag of weather, typical of this part of the world, this time of year. While past years have been everything from miserable to marvelous, 2024 depends on which day you choose.
Entering the weekend, a line of thunderstorms is expected to move through between 8 and 10 pm. While severe weather was the subject of earlier speculation, those chances have diminished to “slight” as clouds kept available energy low in eastern Wisconsin, while the south and southwest had a better chance to experience high winds and hail. Still, forecasters are keeping a close eye on possibilities.
Saturday offers the best weather for being outdoors, with temperatures peaking near 70 degrees with mild west-southwest winds, abundant sunshine and no mention of rain.
Sunday possesses the best chance of showers and thunderstorms, with plenty of clouds and breezy southeasterly winds that could gust to 25 mph during the midday.
While clouds will likely populate the sky – about 65% cover predicted – chances of showers will remain near 40% while temperatures hit highs in the mid 60s, and a low chance of thunderstorms exists after 4 p.m.
