John Carlton “Cowboy” Petermann, 63, passed away at Aurora Medical Center Sheboygan County on
Tuesday, May 21, 2024. He was born on January 16, 1961 to the late Lloyd and Doris
(George) Petermann. John attended local schools, graduating from South High School
with the class of 1979. After graduation, John moved to Menominee Falls by his sister
Helen, working at High-Tech Flooring. Eventually starting his own business Five Star
Flooring. Years later, John returned to Sheboygan where he became close friends with
Debbie Fettig and her family. John was known as “PaPa” to Debbie’s grandchildren.
John enjoyed playing pool, watching the Packers, Brewers and NASCAR and working
security at the Milwaukee Mile and Summerfest.
John is survived by his siblings, Helen (Terry) Plato, Richard Petermann, Nancy (Mark)
Neils and Robert (Janet) Petermann; special friends, Debbie Fettig and Jeff and Debbie;
numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and grandchildren. He is
preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Doris Peterman and his dog, Sioux.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 at First United Lutheran Church, 2401
Kohler Memorial Dr. from 10:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 12:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Vince Lombardi Cancer
Clinic, along with the care he received at the Aurora Medical Center’s emergency room
and hospice.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in John’s name.
It hurts to findout a good friend of yours passed away. I never got to say Goodbye to him and it breaks my heart. I’ve always known Cowboy to have the biggest heart♡ He always had time for you, to listen or to make you smile. I will never forget the hugs that I got from him. Those hugs I will always cherish to my last breath.
I wish I could say goodbye to him..I wish I could’ve seen him 1 more time. I wish I could hug him 1 more time.. have a drink with him and tell him all about my Grandson. I hope he always knos how much he meant to me. As a friend, a companion, someone to talk to…
Cowboy, I will never forget the the person you was, I will always hold you close to my ♥…
Love you, Can’t wait to see you again when it is our time. Have another drink and conversation with you again… till then keep Flying high my friend…
