The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wants comments on plans to replace a key part of Sheboygan Falls’ municipal water system. That agency has received an application from the city to fund replacement of the Fond du Lac Avenue booster station through the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program.
The DNR says they’ve determined that the project activities are “minor” and won’t result in significant adverse environmental effects, however the public is allowed to submit comments regarding that decision and the potential environmental impacts by June 4th to the DNR. Based upon those comments, the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program may prepare an environmental analysis before moving forward with funding. That analysis would summarize the DNR’s consideration of the project’s impacts and reasonable alternatives.
