Susan Scheele, age 75, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024, at St. Luke’s
Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Sheboygan on September 14, 1948, to the late Elvin and Marjorie (Keli)
Fredericksen. Susan graduated from South High School and received her associates degree as
an LPN at Lakeshore Technical College. On February 6, 1971, Susan was united in marriage to
Walter Scheele Jr., at Ebenezer UCC in Sheboygan. She was a dedicated nurse for 35 years,
working at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sunny Ridge Nursing Home, and the Sheboygan Aurora Clinic.
Susan was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Susan will be remembered for
her giving spirit and her willingness to always help others.
Susan enjoyed traveling, gardening, decorating for the holidays, thrift shopping, and collecting
Boyds bears. Susan loved to stay in touch with her family and friends and also posting
inspirational messages on Facebook. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and
making many memorable trips to the Fireside Theatre with her husband. Susan took great
delight in attending her grandchildren’s performances and athletic events. She will be
remembered for her elegance and deep faith in Jesus Christ and the Resurrection. She will be
deeply missed.
Along with her husband of over 53 years, Walter, Susan is survived by her children, Michael
(Shelley) Scheele and Sheri (Sean) Severson; grandchildren, Ashley (Kyle) Murphy, Ryan
(Delilah) Scheele and Grace Severson; great-grandchildren, Jace Scheele and Wesson Murphy; a
brother, Tommy (Maureen) Fredericksen and nieces, Lynn (Steve) Merritt and Kim (Kyle)
Fredericksen; other family and friends further survive.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents and maternal and paternal grandparents.
A Celebration of Life for Susan will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at St. John
Lutheran Church, 222 N Stafford St. in Plymouth with Pastor John Schultz officiating. Family will
greet visitors, at church, on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time on the service. For those
who would like to attend Susan’s service virtually, they can do so on her obituary page on the
funeral home website. Susan will be privately inurned at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Kohler.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Susan’s name.
The family would like to thank the staff at both Aurora Medical Center Sheboygan and St. Luke’s
Medical Center, Pastor John Schultz and Chaplain Stanley for the care and compassion shown to
Susan.
