MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers slugged three home runs during a 7-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals at American Family Field on Thursday night.
Milwaukee scored three runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back. Rhys Hoskins, Jake Bauers, and Joey Ortiz all went deep in the victory, while Jared Koenig earned the win in relief.
Lars Nootbaar homered in the losing effort, and Sonny Gray was charged with his second loss after surrendering six runs on seven hits in five innings. St. Louis is on a five-game losing streak.
Game two of the four game series takes place Friday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 6:35.
