KANSAS CITY, MO (WHBL) – The Kansas City Royals earned a series win after topping the Milwaukee Brewers 6-4 in their rubber match from Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Joe Ross was charged with the loss after allowing three runs on three hits over five innings pitched. Gary Sanchez slugged a solo shot as Milwaukee remains first in the NL Central 21-15.
Brady Singer was credited with his third victory of the year after striking out four Brewer batters and allowing one run over five and a third innings. James McArthur secured his eighth save of the season after recording the final two outs of the game. Bobby Witt Jr. led the way at the plate for the Royals after going two for three with a solo homer and three runs scored.
The Brewers head back to American Family Field for a seven-game homestand beginning with a four game series against the St. Louis Cardinals that starts on Thursday night.
