Peter Charles Godard, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on April 28, 2024. He was born in Sheboygan
on May 3, 1954 to the late Robert and Verna (Kautzer) Godard.
Growing up on a farm, Peter learned the value of hard work and putting family first at an early age. He
married the love of his life, Barbara, on December 27, 1975, and together they raised four children:
Robert, Jennifer, Matthew and Kathryn in the area that he loved and with the values he was instilled
with. His love of the outdoors only continued to grow as the years passed, and he shared this love with
his wife and children, and later, grandchildren. They enjoyed camping, fishing, going up north and
spending time together. Peter loved attending tractor and car shows. In fact, he was a member of the
Two Cylinder Club, and owned several tractor models that he displayed with pride. He was always fixing
things, and was a talented mechanic, welder, and handyman. Even with all his skills, he was always
open to learning new things. He worked for VanDerVart Concrete Products, Wisconsin Concrete
Products, County Materials Corporation and Aggrecon in many roles, including heavy equipment
operator and repair, and plant manager.
Peter is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara, and their children Robert (Katherine) Godard, Jennifer
(Jason) Fischer, Matthew (Angela) Godard, and Kathryn (Christopher) Clark; his grandchildren Sydney
Reif, Aubrey and Jonathan Fischer, Logan, Nathan and Emma Godard, and Alexander Clark, and his
brother Jerome Godard. He is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Peter is preceded in death by his parents-in-law Harry and Hildegard Spindler,
and his sister-in-law Roxanne Bassuener.
The family extends their deepest appreciation to Sheboygan County emergency services, Howards
Grove first responders, and Plymouth Orange Cross Ambulance Service.
All services will be private.
