Edna L. Dearie, aged 77, peacefully passed away at her Sheboygan residence on April
24, 2024. Born on November 5, 1946, in Eau Claire, WI, she was the cherished
daughter of the late Edvin and LaVon Powers Hatleli. Edna, lovingly known as "butterfly
Grandma" to her grandchildren, fostered a sense of family among all she encountered.
Her unwavering faith and dedication to spreading the teachings of Christ through her
words and actions will be her legacy. Edna was a faithful member of the Seventh Day
Adventist Church in Sheboygan. On October 15, 2005, Edna was united in marriage to
Alan Dearie.
Survivors include her husband, Alan Dearie, of Sheboygan; four children, Wayne
(Eleanor) Hatleli, Lonnie Hatleli, both of Sheboygan, Christopher Hatleli, and Shawn
(ShaVonna) Wilson, both of Canton, MI; nine grandchildren, Martha, Nick, Amanda,
Alexandria, Lonnie Jr., Madisyn, Mckenzy, Holland, and Shawn Mason,; four great-
grandchildren, Skarllete, Kalliopee, Lonnie III, and Alyra; three sisters, Mary Tanner, of
Waldo, Jeanette (Joe) Duquette, of Bowler, WI, and Janet (Floyd) Wenniger, of
Sheboygan; and her brother, Edvin (Brenda) Hatleli, of Sheboygan Falls. Many nieces,
nephews, other relatives, and friends further survive. Edna was preceded in death by
her parents, two sisters, Robin Schubert, and Victoria Dear, and a daughter-in-law, Gina
Hatleli.
A memorial service for Edna will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the
Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan with Pastor Carlos
Ancheta officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday
afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions in Edna’s name may be directed to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in
Sheboygan.
