PITTSBURGH, PA (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Pirates 4-2 in their series opener from Pittsburgh on Monday night.
Rhys Hoskins provided all of the offense with a solo homer and a fielder’s choice for the Brewers. Joe Ross got saddled with the loss after giving up one earned run on four hits over five-plus innings.
Pittsburgh’s Oneil Cruz drove in a pair of runs in the sixth inning off a single. Jared Jones got the win after giving up one run on four hits over six innings.
Pittsburgh is fourth in the NL Central at 12-11.
Milwaukee still leads the NL Central at 14-7.
