Traffic on one of Sheboygan’s main north-south arteries will be slow-going from now through the summer as reconstruction of the roadway begins today. Orange barrels have been going up for the past week or so, and now that portion of South Taylor Drive between Union Avenue and Kohler Memorial Drive means that there will be only one lane of travel in each direction until the project to resurface the road is completed sometime this fall. An exact completion date hasn’t been set, and the Sheboygan Department of Public Works notes that weather is always a factor in adjusting schedules.
Officials remind drivers to use extra caution and slow down in construction zones for the safety of workers and motorists alike.
