Aretha Mae Binder was born on February 19,1939 in Logan County, West Virginia and
passed away on April 16, 2024 at the age of 85. She moved to Sheboygan in 1967 to
start a new life. When all the children were in school Aretha went to work at Wigwam
Mills as a Knitter for 19 years. Aretha then moved to Nashville, TN where she had to
learn how to drive before moving. After several years she then moved back to
Sheboygan to be with her grandson, Paul, her very favorite to the end and everyone
knew it. Aretha met the love of her life, David Binder, and they were united in marriage
on September 13, 1997. They enjoyed many adventures together over the years.
Aretha enjoyed her housekeeping jobs at Memorial Hospital, Progressive Nursing Home
and Harmony of Sheboygan. She also enjoyed her bear collection, lunches with her
friends, and more than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family and
grandchildren.
Aretha is survived by her husband, David; children, Donna Holbrook Fischer and
Donald Holbrook (Cynthia Walton); mother-in-law, Theresa Beinemann; grandchildren,
Paul Fischer, Ryan Holbrook and Emily Holbrook (fiancé Devin Gavin); adopted
daughter, Debra Grois Livermore; nieces and nephews, William (Vicki) Oney, Robert
(Lori) Oney, Bradley (Lisa) Oney, Minda (Tony) Schmitz and Zeff Oney. She is preceded
in death by her parents, Rex and Donnie Oney; brothers, Orville and Roger Oney and
aunt, Pauline Lanham.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535
S. 12 th St., Sheboygan, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. A memorial
fund in Aretha’s name has been established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital in
Green Bay for their care of Aretha.
