MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers avoided getting swept on Wednesday afternoon, beating the San Diego Padres 1-0 at American Family Field and breaking a three game losing streak in the process.
Blake Perkins singled-home the game’s only run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Abner Uribe earned the win in relief.
Padres pitcher Michael King had a no-hitter going through 6 2/3 innings. King didn’t allow a runner past first base until the eighth inning, when Brice Turang stole second after hitting a single.
Milwaukee leads the NL Central at 11-6, a half-game ahead of the Chicago Cubs.
The Brewers have Thursday off before heading to St. Louis for a three-game weekend series against the Cardinals beginning on Friday night.
