With sadness, our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Janet Antoine Raeder, age 89,
passed away on April 11, 2024, surrounded by family at Pine Haven Christian Home.
Janet was born on October 31, 1934, daughter of Arthur and Lona (Prange) Meyer.
She attended Starlight grade school in rural Sheboygan Falls and graduated from Plymouth High School
in 1952.
Janet was married on September 19, 1953, to Allen Raeder at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Sheboygan
Falls and were married for 67 years.
Janet was a lifetime member of United Church of Christ in Elkhart Lake.
In 1954 alongside her husband, built, owned, and operated the Stagecoach Drive-In Restaurant in
Greenbush until selling the business in 1969. The family moved to rural Glenbeulah and along with
farming, she worked at Gilson-Plymouth, Plymouth Review and in later years as a seasonal tour guide at
the Wade House in Greenbush.
Janet accompanied her husband on many events across the Midwest antiquing and traveling with close
friends throughout the U.S. and Canada. Her own antique collection ranged from cast iron trivet plates,
early glass milk bottles, pie birds and various glassware. She enjoyed doing a variety of crafts, her
favorite being hand embroidery, gardening, canning, and sewing. She attended many family sporting
events over the years, being our cheerleader from the bleachers. Maple syrup processing was her
highlight of the spring season and loved playing Sheepshead throughout the year with family and
friends. With her birthday being on Halloween, she enjoyed having the yearly family party get together
at the end of October sharing her October 31 st birthday with other family member birthdays near and on
that same date.
Janet is survived by her three children, Deborah (Robert) Sippel, Russell (Rhonda) Raeder and Perry
Raeder. Grandchildren Nicole (Dan) Bulin, Jason Sippel, step-grandchildren Nicole (Paul Adkins), Dustin
Wissbaum and great-grandchildren Tony, Ava and step-great grandchildren Olivia and Carter.
She is survived by her sister Joyce Clemens and brother Gerald (Marilyn) Meyer and sister-in-laws, Isobel
Sharpe and Janet M. Raeder (late Ronald Raeder) and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Allen, parents Arthur and Lona Meyer, Walter Gannon step-
father, father and mother-in-law Edmund and Ella Raeder, brother-in-law Dale Clemens and husbands
past family, Melvin (Bernice) Raeder, June (Elroy) Guenther, Joe Sharpe, Jeanette (Wilbur) Bohnhoff,
David (Jeanette) Raeder, Alice Raeder, Ronald Raeder.
A celebration of Janet’s life will be held on Friday (April 19, 2024) at the Suchon Funeral Home in
Plymouth. Visitation will take place from 2:00-4:00pm, with a service to follow at 4:00pm. Pastor Dale
Miller will officiate, and a private family burial will take place the following day at Greenbush Cemetery.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the entire wonderful staff at Pine Haven
Christian Communities Memory Care Unit for their loving support and outstanding devotion over the
past 3 years through her journey with dementia and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for their care and
compassion.
