Russell M. Lentz loving husband, father, and grandfather, age 78, of Plymouth, passed away on
April 10, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton from heart conditions. He was born on
October 6, 1945 in Poynette, WI, son of the late Clarence and Lena (Leverence) Lentz. Russell
attended schools in Portage, WI, graduated from Portage High School in 1964. He was united in
marriage to Loretta (Oberle) Rizzi on July 7 th , 1990.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers for over 50 years on state
highways all over the State of Wisconsin.
Throughout his life Russell loved hunting deer, boating, golfing, riding motorcycles, playing
cards, fishing, going for car rides, tree cutting, and construction projects. He loved spending
time with his family, friends, and grand dogs too. But, most of all he enjoyed his children,
grandchildren, and great grandchildren, they were his pride and joy!
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Lentz; brother, Bob Lentz; sister, Janet Nelson; brother-in-
law, Bill Oberle; and sister-in-law, Kathy Riley; children, Connie (Darrell) Anderson, Russell Lentz
Jr. (Loriann), Richard Lentz (Kelly), Phillipp Lentz, Travis Lentz (Jess); Step-Children, Debbie Rizzi,
Dan (Tami) Rizzi, Dennis Rizzi, Dawn (John) Walczyk; Grandchildren, Ryan (Jenny), Melinda, Julia
(Sam), Carese (Ben), Amanda (Jason), Malorri (Mitch), Stephanie (Friend Jamison), Lauren
(Austin), Alyssa (Dylan), Lexy (Brad), Riley; and Great Grandchildren, Logan, Liberty, Taylor, Levi,
Brooklyn, Teagan.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, son Troy, sister Geraldine, sister-in-law Diane,
and brothers-in-law Jim, Bob, and Perry and other relatives and Friends.
A celebration of Russell’s life will be held on Saturday (April 20, 2024) at the Suchon Funeral
Home in Plymouth. Visitation will take place from 10:00-11:30am, with a service to follow at
11:30am, followed by lunch and fellowship at Suchon. Rev. John Schultz will officiate and
inurnment will be in Greenbush Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Russell’s name to St. John Lutheran Church in
Plymouth.
