Robin Elisabeth Krause, age 85, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away early Monday morning (April 1, 2024)
at Pine Haven in Sheboygan Falls.
She was born on March 12, 1939 in New Holstein, WI, a daughter of Richard and Isabelle (Herrick)
Lauson.
Robin graduated from New Holstein High School. She attended University of Wisconsin-Madison and
graduated from Silver Lake College with an Associate Degree in Music.
On May 21, 1960 she married Lyle Leonard Krause at St Lukes Methodist Church in Sheboygan. They
resided in Sheboygan since their marriage. He preceded her in death in 2013. She was the piano
accompanist for Kohler Schools for many years. When her children were older she began teaching piano
in her home and continued until her retirement.
Robin was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. She sang in the choir and
after her retirement she volunteered at the school reading to the younger children.
She loved everything having to do with music. She began playing the piano at age 3. Early in life she
aspired to be a concert pianist, but fell in love and had a family instead. She composed her own music,
including pieces specifically for some of her family members. She continued playing the piano up until
her death. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband. They traveled throughout the United States
and made several trips to England and Ireland.
Survivors include: Children: Marcie Laurin and Matthew Krause both of Sheboygan Falls; Daughter-in-
law, Cyndi Krause of Sheboygan; Grandchildren: Christopher (Kristi) Maki of Sheboygan Falls, Elizabeth
(Ryan) Passini of Plymouth, Katherine Smalley of Oxford, UK, Kyrie (Joseph) Burton of Oostburg, Aleah
(Lance) Ryan of Valders, and Quinn Krause of Sheboygan; 11 Great-grandchildren; and Sister in-law,
Christine Schwonek.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and 2 brothers, Herrick Lauson and Richard
Lauson, Son: Adam Krause and Son-In-Law: David Laurin
Funeral Services will be held on Friday (April 5, 2024) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.
Visitation will take place from 1:00-3:00pm, with a service to follow at 3:00pm. Rev. Alan Kretschmar
will officiate and burial will be in the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Robin’s name.
