Stanley B. “Stan” Milbrath, age 77, of Cleveland, WI, passed away early Wednesday morning (March 27,
2024) at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center.
He was born on October 5, 1946 in Jackson, MN, a son of Alvin and Leona (Rients) Milbrath. Stan
graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1964.
On August 24, 1968 he married his high school sweetheart, Karen Gosse, at St. John’s United Church of
Christ in Ada, WI.
Stan farmed the Gosse Homestead and was a meat cutter most of his career, until he had to go on
disability because of his back and fibromyalgia. He loved playing softball and golf until it became too
painful for him.
He still enjoyed dartball, hunting (especially the special hunt with his son, Steve, to New Mexico when
he harvested his one and only Elk), playing with his grandchildren and now great grandchildren.
Stan so enjoyed spending time with his best friend, Gary, at the Henschel Indian Museum and Hidden
Springs Trout Farm.
Survivors include: His wife of 55 years, Karen of Cleveland; Son: Steven (Lisa) Milbrath of Townsend,
WI; Daughter, Stacey Schmitz (special friend: Rick Miller) of Cleveland, WI; Two grandchildren: Alisha
(Jake) Konen of Plymouth and Camrie Schmitz (fiancé: Ethan Riehn) of Chilton; Four Great
Grandchildren: McKenna, Adeline, Amelia and Murphy Konen. Five Brothers: Phillip (Karen) Milbrath of
Kohler, Dale (Rita) Milbrath of Howards Grove, James (Carol) Milbrath of Howards Grove, Larry (Faye)
Milbrath of Howards Grove, and Ben (Rose) Milbrath of Sheboygan; Sister, June (Gary) Wiegand of
Howards Grove; Brothers-in-law: Romy (Phyllis) Gosse of Plymouth and Roger (Nancy) Gosse of
Sheboygan Falls; Sister-in-law, Lola (Paul) Schleicher of Plymouth; As well as many nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Leona Milbrath and mother and father-in-law:
Roman and Lorena Gosse.
Following Stan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Stan’s name for St. Jude’s Hospital.
