Melody Ann Freriks departed this life unexpectedly on March 23, 2024, at her
home in Sheboygan. She was born on October 23, 1963, to Miles and Donna
(Raether) Wilson in West Bend, Wisconsin. After completing her formal training
for pharmacy technician through Lakeshore Technical College, she married the
love of her life, Scott Freriks, on April 19, 1986. Together they raised their children
Zachary and Allison in Sheboygan.
Melody will always be remembered for her witty sense of humor, her
thoughtfulness, her genuine love for her family. Her family will never forget her
“German Stubbornness” and her tag line when asked to do something, “Just give
me 2.5 seconds!” She could cook just about anything, and make it taste amazing.
She was known for her outgoing personality, and her ability to always make her
family and friends smile. She was very humbled and proud of reaching her ten-
year sobriety anniversary just last October 23, 2023. How fitting that this
important achievement took place on her birthday. Above all, she was devoted to
her family, and her two beautiful cats Noah and Midnight, who “just knew” when
she needed a cuddle.
Melody is survived by her husband of 38 years Scott, her children Zachary
(Jasminn) Freriks and Allison (Josh Campo) Freriks, six grandchildren and two
cats. She is further survived by her parents Miles and Donna (Raether) Wilson,
her sister Cindy (Carl) Wilson-Saylor, her brother Mike Wilson (Amy VanMinsel),
parents-in-law Ray (Gwen) Freriks, brother-in-law Jeff (Amy) Freriks, sister-in-law
Renee (Dan) Zimmerman, and numerous other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Sam (Dottie) Wilson and Jacob
(Marie) Raether, and her mother-in-law Bonnie Freriks.
