William D. Peloquin, 83, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, February 27, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born February 20, 1941, in Saginaw, MI, William was a son of the late Peter and Antonia Cherski Peloquin. He attended Washburn Grade School, St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1959. On February 17, 1962, he was united in marriage to Grace Ann Jacobson at St. Mary’s Church in Sheboygan Falls.
William served as a police officer for the City of Sheboygan for 33 years before his retirement as a Sergeant in 1997. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Rosary Council #722, The Sheboygan Elks Lodge #299, the Ridgerunners Sportsmans Club, Cascade and the Riverside Boat Club. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and camping. He could often be found taking rides in the car and enjoying God’s creations. He enjoyed visiting and spending time at his home away from home in Washburn, WI. One of his greatest joys was spending good times with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Grace; his children, Shelly (Tom) Quinn, Oak Creek, William Peloquin, Armstrong, and Tracy (Mark) Moenning, Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Tyler Peloquin, Sineigh, Alayna and Cullen Quinn, and Brandon and Ryan (Katrina) Moenning; his great grandson, Damian McCranie; his brothers, Peter (Elaine) and Donald (Constance) Peloquin; his sisters, Jane (Tom) Pfeifer and Mary (James) Tenpas; many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and loyal friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannan; his sister, Lois Mattheaus and his grandson, Hunter Peloquin.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
