Lydia Laboy, 84, of Sheboygan, WI, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2024 at St. Nicholas Hospital
in Sheboygan.
She was born on September 6, 1939 in Sawyer, ND, a daughter of the late Edward and Theresa
(Buchholtz) Erdmann.
In 1943, Lydia and her family moved to Hancock, WI. She attended Hancock Grade School and graduated
from Plainfield High School. On February 13, 1965, she married Louis Laboy. In the summer of 1970,
the Laboy family moved to Elkhart Lake, WI.
Lydia worked at Tecumseh in New Holstein for 33 years before retiring in 2005.
In her younger years Lydia loved gardening, canning, cooking, and making homemade candies. She
enjoyed writing, camping, playing cards, bird watching especially cardinals, crafting, and making greeting
cards. Her faith played an important role in her daily life, she enjoyed reading scriptures and she was a
member of Christian Life Church in Plymouth.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Charles) Pierce, Larry (Dawn) Laboy, Lee Laboy, and Leonard (Lisa)
Laboy; grandchildren, Christine (Scott) Kroeplien, Michelle (Luke) Danduran, Paige Sauer, Tanner Sauer,
Jordan Laboy, Taylor Laboy, April Laboy, Autumn Laboy, Naiya Laboy, and Gabrielle Laboy; great-
grandchildren, Jase and Cade Kroeplien, and Scarlett Danduran. She is also survived by many nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Lauraine (Edwin) Bray, Raymond Erdmann, Erwin
Erdmann, Irene (Ed) Bean, Evelynn, Dellora, and Albert Erdmann.
Visitation will be held on Friday (March 8, 2024) at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 3:00PM-
5:00PM; with a memorial service to follow at 5:00 PM. Pastor Sharon York, Pastor of Christian Life
Church, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Lydia’s name.
