Glenn J. Heitzmann, 65, of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 27, 2024, at Sunny Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center where he had been residing.
Born May 9, 1958, in Sheboygan, Glenn was a son of the late William and Delores Grunow Heitzmann. He attended Oostburg High School. On August 13, 1994, he was united in marriage to Evelyn R. Federer at Ebeneezer United Church of Christ.
Glenn was a farmer all of his life in the Oostburg area. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time outdoors. He kept active with mini bowling and racing RC cars. One of his greatest joys was collecting John Deere memorabilia.
He is survived by his children, Brandon McDaniel, James Heitzmann, and Ashley (Scott Chiminatti) Heitzmann; two grandchildren, Raelyn Chiminatti and Veralee Erdmann; his sisters and brothers, Beatrice (Robert) Seibel, Sandra (Roland) Fischer, JoAnn (Antonio) Garica and Linda (Jim) Kreutz, all of Sheboygan; and Barbara (John) Schneider, Alabama, Larry (Kathy) and Arleigh (Kathy), both of Sheboygan and Richard (Shari) Heitzmann, Sheboygan Falls. He is further survived by his step children, Carrie, Eric and Denise Peaine; his foster parents, Garrit and Muriel Ledeboer; his step brother, Todd Ledeboer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; a sister, Susan, two brothers, Herbert and Ronald; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Seibel and Roland Fischer.
A memorial service for Glenn will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sunny Ridge and Compassus Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
