Andrea Yvonne Kapellen (Browning), 79, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2024 at
the Waterford in Plymouth.
She was born on April 22, 1944 in Shelton, WA, a daughter of the late James and Rachel Browning.
Andrea was raised in Richmond, Ohio where she attended grade school and graduated from Union High
School. In 1962, she moved to Plymouth, WI.
On May 19, 1984, she married Dennis Kapellen and resided in Plymouth, WI since their marriage. Dennis
preceded her in death on February 19, 2023.
She was a member of Salem UCC in Plymouth. Andrea was a former member and president of the
Sheboygan County Homemakers and the Red Hats.
Andrea worked various jobs, most recently at Sargento for 27 years until her retirement.
She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, decorating, digital photography, going to Arizona, and watching the
Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers.
Survivors include her three children: Lisa DeSmidt of Plymouth, Rich (Stacy) DeSmidt of Greenbush, and
Lori DeSmidt (significant other: Mark) of Crystal Lake; Three stepchildren: Valerie (Mark) Krueger, Vickie
Gunderson, and Virginia (Randall) Rortvedt all of Plymouth; Grandchildren: Jenna DeSmidt , Shawna
(Jeff) Reynolds, Meghan Rabe, Katelyn Rabe, Joe Krueger, Alex (Elyssa) Krueger, Jason Gunderson,
Samantha (Justin) Richardson, Stephanie Rortvedt (significant other: Trevor); Great Grandchildren: Lily
Krueger, Josiah Gunderson, Beckett Richardson, Reece Richardson, and Bryce Baumann; Brothers,
Michael (Mikie) Browning and Stephan (Susan) Browning; and sister, Bobbie Jo (John) Ceurvorst.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Andrea’s name.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday (March 1, 2024) at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth.
Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with a prayer service to follow at 1:00 PM. Rev.
James Hoppert, Pastor of Salem UCC, will officiate and entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park
in the Town of Sheboygan.
