Susan “Sue” Marie Klemme, age 62, of Sheboygan, passed away at home in Sheboygan
surrounded by her family on February 23, 2024, after an 11-month battle with metastatic
pancreatic cancer. She was born March 2, 1961, to the late Duane and Patricia (Fesko)
Schuppner.
Sue was a 1979 graduate of Sheboygan North High School. On October 4, 1986 she was married
to John Klemme in Sheboygan at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, where she was an active
member throughout her life. Sue worked for Aurora for 25 years as a receptionist in the
behavioral health unit. Following her time there, she joined INVEST Financial where she retired
in 2019.
Sue was an active member in the Girl Scouts of Manitou Council from 1998-2011, acting as a
troop leader for Troops 299 and 388, where she made a lasting impact on many of the girls’
lives. She volunteered in the foreign exchange student program; hosting two students and
acting as a liaison host for one student between 2004 and 2006. She was an avid quilter, sewer,
and crafter and became a member of the Sheboygan County Quilters Guild the day she retired
on April 10, 2019. She won two ribbons for her stunning quilts. She really loved the quilting
community and formed many great friendships.
Sue was a world traveler. She had a passion for it and was the driving force for all of her and
John’s adventures. Of the many places visited through their 37 years of marriage, the annual
family vacations to Minocqua were among the most cherished. They were the love of each
other’s lives and best friends. Their love and care for one other shone through brightly for
everyone around them.
Sue loved her family dearly. Spending time with her grandkids brought her so much joy. They
created lasting memories from simple trips to get ice cream together at Culvers to picking
raspberries in the garden to going to the Great Wolf Lodge for a weekend. Her proudest
accomplishment was being a mother to her two children.
She is survived by her loving husband John, daughter Rebecca (Robert) Meyer of Cudahy, son
Garrett (Brittany) Klemme of Sheboygan and their children Parker and Milo, brother Michael
(Tina) Schuppner of Florida, and sister Rene Thimmig of Sheboygan.
Family and friends may gather at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 1127 Eisner Avenue,
Sheboygan on Thursday February 29, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m.
Pastor Adam Barkley will officiate.
A memorial fund has been established in Sue’s name.
Special Thanks to Karla and Jenna at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Nikki Jaeckels
and Julie Stover for extra care, and to the many family and friends who visited and brought
meals. She will be missed by everyone lucky enough to have known her.
