Calvin was born September 15, 1946 in Sheboygan Falls, the son of Elmor and Myrna (nee Meyer) Drossel. He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School, and went on to study at New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha.
From 1966-1969, he proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp, earning a Purple Heart. There, he was exposed to Agent Orange and battled health complications from it for many years, never once complaining.
On June 24, 1995, Cal was united in marriage with Christine Hinton.
Raised with a strong work ethic, Cal worked at Bemis in the shipping department for 17 years. Prior, he had worked at Tolibia Cheese in Oostburg for over 10 years.
A faithful follower, Cal belonged to Grace Baptist Church in Sheboygan, and was a former member of Southside Alliance where he served as an Elder, Usher, Greeter, taught Sunday School and led Bible studies. A theologian, Cal had a vast knowledge of the Bible and a steadfast faith to go with it.
Cal was an avid reader, had a green thumb and enjoyed doing yard work, bird watching, and spending time with his grandchildren. A proud Packer and Brewer fan, you could also find Cal regularly watching the news and the food channel. His solid, unwavering character spoke volumes, and he was a pillar of strength for those fortunate enough to know him and love him. Humble to the core, Cal was a constant display of sincerity. He had a quick and clever wit that brought laughter to anyone in the room. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of life well lived.
Cal is survived by his wife Chris, his children Traci (Tracey) Brill of Oostburg, Deena (Dean) Kapelka of FL and Travis (Krystal) Drossel of Howards Grove, Christine’s children Gina Hinton and Janet Elzie, both of Las Vegas, grandchildren: Sam White, Maggie Brill, Harrison Brill (fiancé Tori Rietbrock), Stephanie (Luke) Herman, Gabrielle Kapelka, Luci Kapelka, Lileigh Drossel, Haddie Drossel, Marquise Hinton (fiance Brittany Reardon), Jaidee Johnson, Tylinn Carter and Tahira Lynch; and great-grandchildren Finley and Fielder.
