Betty Ann Bernhardt (Kuether), age 85, was called home to her heavenly father on February 13, 2024.
Betty was born September 4, 1938, to Elmer & Ida Kuether (Wehmeyer). Betty was a shining star and
brought much happiness to her family. Betty loved helping to prepare meals or bake cookies and could
often be found in the kitchen with chocolate on her mouth and flour on her face. She was famous for her
coloring skills and always had a new picture to share with family and friends. Betty had an infectious
smile that could warm even the coldest of hearts and would clap with excitement when she was incredibly
happy.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband David Bernhardt; mother & father, Ida Wehmeyer Kuether &
Elmer Kuether; her brother Jack Kuether (Carolyn); her sister Dorothy Kuether Beaujean (Albert); her
nephews, Joseph Beaujean and Steven Kuether; a niece Linda (Mike) Larson, and a great nephew, Philip
Andre Beaujean.
She is survived by nieces and nephews; Rebecca Beaujean Suggs (Billy), Albert Beaujean Jr (Sue), Andre
Beaujean (Lisa), Michelle Beaujean Fulk (Charles), Luanna Kuether Lawrence (Mark) and Tara Kuether
Hocevar;11 great nieces & nephews, and 18 great, great nieces and nephews.
A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Betty’s life. We would like to thank Heartland
Hospice for their care in the last days of Betty’s life. Although her candle has burned out, the light she
shed on this world will continue to shine. We all need to take a lesson from Betty and be kind.
