A new Executive Director has been named at the Sheboygan County Museum. Following a national search, former longtime Wisconsin resident and experienced museum leader, Brett Lobello, was named to the position on Wednesday.
Museum board member William Moir, who led the search committee, said the Museum’s board was “…excited to welcome Brett and look forward to his leadership as we continue to evolve and tell the stories that make Sheboygan County such a great place to live, work and visit.”
Lobello, who now leads Sheboygan County’s 100-year-old Museum into its next century, said that he was excited for the opportunity, adding that as a historian he believes that “…people and their stories are the foundation of a community, and I am thrilled to become a part of yours.”
Lobello leaves his previous position as director of regional history and genealogy at the Pikes Peak, Colorado Library District where he served a total of 15 years in various roles. He’d also held museum positions in Iowa and North Carolina, as well as with several other Wisconsin museums, and received his masters in Public History and Museum Studies from UWM.
