A two-step process is all that remains for putting a new 3-year contract in place between the City of Sheboygan and its Police Officers. The contract has been referred directly to the Finance and Personnel Committee for their approval after discussion at their 5 p.m. meeting on Monday, immediately preceding the Common Council meeting at 6 p.m. for a likely final vote.
As written, officers in the Sheboygan Professional Police Officers’ Supervisory Association will get a 3-1/2 percent pay increase effective the first of this year, with another 3-1/2 percent for each of the two years to follow. Also included are incentives for education, time-and-a-half for overtime and double pay on holidays, longevity pay, incentives for overnight work, and insurance continuing after retirement.
Assuming all goes without challenge, documents should be ready for signatures by Tuesday.
