Over $2.5 million in transportation aids are coming to Sheboygan County from the State of Wisconsin. The
payments are maid quarterly by the State Department of Transportation to cover the cost of constructing, maintaining and operating roads and streets under local jurisdiction, while Connecting Highway Aids reimburse municipalities for their work on certain state highways within their borders.
$862,450 went to Sheboygan County for maintaining county roads while another $1,545,839 in General Transportation Aids were sent to cities, villages and townships in the county. There was another $146,274 in Connecting Highway Aids for the Cities of Plymouth, Sheboygan and Sheboygan Falls for a total of $2,554,563.
Over $138 million in all was paid by the State for the first quarter of 2024.
