Bruce R. Rohde, age 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Sharon
Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, WI, surrounded by family. He was a beloved father,
grandfather, brother, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bruce was born in Sheboygan on August 29, 1948, to the late Richard and Lois (Augustine)
Rohde. He graduated from South High School in 1966 and was honorably discharged from the
United States Army in 1971. In 1973 Bruce was united in marriage to Shirley Burkard and
together they had three children. Bruce was a 39-year employee of the Vollrath Company
working as an Industrial Electrician, retiring in 2011.
Bruce was best known for his skill in fixing electronics, which he started at an early age. You
would always find some type of electrical parts in Bruce’s room, and he remained a tinkerer up
until his final days. Bruce always had a glint in his eye, a witty joke, and a lending hand. He
enjoyed gardening, spicy food, good beer, good music, and good friends. Many of his children’s
friends referred to him as “Pa” and were treated as part of the family.
Bruce is survived by his two daughters, Sara Rohde (Austin Brill) and Amanda (Thomas)
MacDuff; nine grandchildren Isabella Rohde (Caleb Earls), Devin Rohde, Chloe Rohde, Bailey
Rodriguez, Angelo Brill, Miranda Rohde, Logan Rodriguez, Alijah Brill, and Emilea MacDuff; four
sisters and two brothers, Judith (Dave) Heinzen, Joyce (Talbot) Teboe, David (Pat) Rohde,
Michael Rohde, Janice (Steven) Koepsell and Jeanne Braatz (Scott Grunert); daughter-in-law
Patricia Rohde, sister-in-law Sue Rohde, ex-wife Shirley Rohde, ex-son-in-law Kevin Rodriguez,
nephews, nieces, and friends.
Along with his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Rohde and his
brother, Howard Rohde.
A celebration of life service for Bruce will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at
the Ballhorn Chapels,1201 N. 8 th Street, Sheboygan, with Reverend Jim Hoppert officiating. The
family will greet visitors from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at The Lake House Assisted Living
and Sharon Richardson Hospice for all the comfort and support given to Bruce. In lieu of
flowers, a memorial has been established in Bruce’s name.
