Janet M. (Kraemer) Rooker, age 93, of Sheboygan Falls, WI passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Janet was born on July 4, 1930, to the late Edwin and Leona (Hagenow) Kraemer in the Town of Russel. She was very proud to share her birthday with her granddaughter, Brittani.
Janet graduated from Kiel High School in 1948 and worked at Jetzer’s Five and Dime in New Holstein, The Larson Canning Company in Waldo, Gilson Brothers in Plymouth and retired from Sears in Sheboygan.
On June 3, 1950, she was united in marriage to Willis Rooker at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Kiel, WI. Willis preceded her in death on June 14, 2018, after 68 years of marriage.
Janet was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls, WI where she was a past choir member, past member of the Martha Circle and currently enjoyed her time with the members of the Dorcas sewing group.
Janet was a sewing leader of the Waldo Fireflies 4-H, and a past member of the Kings Daughters in Waldo. She enjoyed sewing, canning, freezing, reading, walking, knitting, fishing (especially in Alaska), playing cards with friends and going out to eat with the cousins.
Her grandchildren and great grandsons were her pride and joy. They affectionately called her “GiGi”.
Janet is survived by her daughters Karen Rooker, Cheri (Bruce) Stocker, and son Keith (Tami) Rooker, grandchildren Brandon Rooker and Brittani (Jacob) Ungerer, and great grandsons Maverick and Ash, sister Donna Wenzel, brother Edward Kraemer, sisters-in-law Gertrude Rooker, Joann Grant, and Joyce Kraemer. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willis, brother Robert Kraemer, parents Edwin and Leona Kraemer and parents-in-law Wybrand and Jennie Rooker. She was further preceded in death by her brothers-in-law Henry (Myrtha) Rooker, Edward (Florence) Rooker, Donald Rooker, Raymond (Marilyn) Rooker, Robert (Mary) Rooker Rev. Roger Wenzel, sisters-in-law Marie Rooker and Dorothy Dunham.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30AM on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls. All are welcome to view a livestream of the service on Janet’s obituary page at www.wenigfh.com . The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 9:30AM-11:30AM.
She will be laid to rest at Waldo Cemetery beside her husband Willis.
