William W. “Bill” Duessing Sr., 89, of Sheboygan, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday,
January 9, 2024 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. He was born March
8, 1934 in Centerville to the late Forrest and Sylvia (Belitz) Duessing. Bill attended many schools and
following High School, he proudly joined the U.S. Navy serving from 1955 to 1957. During his service he
was stationed in Guam.
On September 24, 1955 he was united in marriage to JoAnn Stahl at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in
Sheboygan. Bill worked for Bemis Manufacturing Company for 44 years. He had a strong faith and was
a member of St. Dominic Catholic Parish in Sheboygan.
Bill was a member of the Kiel Historical Society. He was proud of his family’s long history in Kiel. His
great-uncle Henry Belitz was the founder of Kiel and his great-grandfather William Belitz was one of the
early pioneers of Kiel. Bill also enjoyed watching football and baseball. He was always cheering on the
Packers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Wisconsin Badgers, and the Brewers. Family was very important to
Bill and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren creating many lasting memories.
Bill is survived by his wife of 68 years, JoAnn, children; William (Julee) Duessing Jr., of Stevens Point,
Ricky (Sandy) Duessing, Daniel (Pamela) Duessing and Brenda (favorite son-in-law Ken) Rishel all of
Sheboygan, five grandchildren; Amber (Patrick) Daehnert, Aaron Rishel, Derek (Kaylee) Duessing,
Amanda (Austin) Larsh, and Eliana Duessing, great-grandson Logan Larsh, brother-in-law, Orlin Hoof
and two sisters-in-law, Mary Mliner and Margaret Kiefer. He is further survived by nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law Loraine
and Edward Stahl, two sisters, Pearl (Bernard) Reindl and Donna Hoof, and by three brothers-in-law;
Edward Shircel, Frank Kiefer, and Gilbert Mliner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at St. Dominic Catholic
Parish, 2133 N. 22
nd St. Sheboygan, with Fr. Patrick Heppe officiating. Military Honors will immediately
follow Mass. A private family entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Relatives and friends
may visit with the family on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 10:30 AM until the time of Mass at the
CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Bill’s name.
