A recent traffic stop in Fond du Lac County has taken three suspects and a significant amount of contraband off the streets.
The traffic stop on I-41 happened on December 30th after a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy K-9 handler stopped a vehicle for going 88 in a 70 mph zone, and saw signs of drug activity inside. A search turned up 700 ecstasy pills, 74 prescription pills, some psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana and, most dangerous among the drugs, 24 grams of fentanyl in two different bags. All four occupants of the vehicle were arrested including the 26-year-old driver from Wausau who was already on parole for drug possession and his 5th OWI. He now faces his 6th OWI charge and a host of other charges.
A 32-year-old Wausau man, also out on probation, was arrested along with a 22-year-old Wausau woman and an 18-year-old woman from Chicago. All face multiple drug charges and are in the Fond du Lac County Jail.
