Isabelle Freimuth, of Elkhart Lake, born on November 30, 1924, to the late George and Catherine
(Gerhard) Stephan went to be with her heavenly Father on January 4, 2024.
Issy attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and School. Issy graduated from Plymouth High School
in 1941.
She married Norman W. Deicher in 1948 and moved to Sheboygan in 1955. Norm preceded her in death
on March 22, 1963.
On November 18, 1967, she married the love of her love Raymond P. Freimuth at St. Clement’s Catholic
Church in Sheboygan. They moved to Elkhart Lake in 1992. Ray preceded her in death on January 27,
2005.
Issy was employed as a legal secretary for Atty Harvey J. Weiss and also worked at Citizen’s Bank in
Sheboygan.
She volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul store in Plymouth for many years. Her specialty was working with
baby clothes sorting and cleaning.
She was a member of St. Clement’s in Sheboygan before moving to Elkhart Lake. She was a member of
St. Thomas Aquinas in Elkhart Lake and participated in the Christian Women there. She also was a poll
worker for the Town of Rhine and the city of Sheboygan.
Issy enjoyed collecting Santa Claus figurines, coins, US Stamps. She loved playing golf with Ray, and their
many friends. She was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed being a member of the Mad Hatters of
Elkhart Lake and spending time with family and her best friend, Ray.
Issy is survived by many nieces, Bev Verhulst, Monica Suemnicht, Cindy Smith, Katherine Suemnicht, Sr
Mary Caritas Wehrman SSND; nephews, Randy (special friend Shirley) Suemnicht, David (Tracy)
Suemnicht, Karl (Diane) Schroeder, Wayne (Cary) Schroeder, Keith Stephan, Timothy (Kim) Stephan, Lee
(Dale) Stephan, Michael (Jean) Stephan, Scott Stephan, Don (Lynn) Meerstein; dear friend, Todd Smith;
and many great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Issy was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Norman and Raymond; sisters, Lorraine (Floyd)
Schroeder, Leona (Ray) Meerstein, Marge (Alvin) Suemnicht; brother, Maynard (Joan) Stephan;
nephews, James Meerstein and Ron Wehrman; and nieces, Janice Kohlman, Carol Stephan, Barbie
Southworth, and Lois Payton.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday (January 10, 2024) at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in
Elkhart Lake from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM; with a Catholic Christian Mass to follow at 1:30 PM. Father Philip
Reifenberg will officiate. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Sheboygan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to HSHS St. Nicholas Foundation, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic
Church, St. Vincent De Paul Store in Plymouth, or the Waterford at Plymouth in Memory of Issy.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kerpe and Carrie for the compassionate care for Ray and Issy for many
years. The special staff at Waterford in Plymouth who took care of Issy for the past 4 months. The
caregivers welcomed her in as part of their family and gave her care above and beyond. Thank you so
much. The hospice team of Allay Hospice, who are truly special people, and kept her comfortable for the
last month.
