A Sheboygan man was arrested Monday for his 5th OWI offense.
The arrest by the Wisconsin State Patrol occurred as a trooper was conducting speed enforcement on County Highway “Y” when they saw a car speeding and took off after it.
The car didn’t pull over, instead pulling into a driveway – and the driver tried to get out and go into the home. When the trooper made contact with Raymond Denny, it was clear he was drunk, was given – and failed – field sobriety tests and was arrested, charged for the 5th time with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated.
If convicted of the felony offense, Denny could face up to 10 years in prison, lose his drivers license for 2-3 years followed by driving under an Occupational Permit which requires absolute sobriety, 12-18 months with an ignition interlock on his vehicle, $600 or more in fines, and mandatory alcohol assessment and treatment.
