Marvin Schueffner, Jr., age 91, was met in heaven by his loving wife
Joan on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
Marvin was born on October 2, 1932, in Sheboygan to parents Marvin
and Anna (Suprick) Schueffner. He graduated in 1951 from Central
High School in Sheboygan. He proudly served in the Marine Corp from
1952-1955. Following his military service, he continued to serve his
community by joining the Sheboygan Police Department. He retired in
1990 after over 30 years of faithful service.
He was formerly married to Ruth Roth in 1955. In 1983, he was united
in marriage to Joan Hefling Gehr.
Marvin loved to camp, golf, and bowl with friends and family. His dogs
were near and dear to his heart, especially his two German Shepherds
Heidi and Sasha. His children fondly remember that he loved giving
haircuts to all the kids in the neighborhood (whether they wanted one or
not), playing golf with his retired police buddies, taking care of his truck
“Black Beauty.” He also loved to travel. One notable trip was with his
police friends to see the Twin Towers.
Marvin is survived by his children Steve, Kim and their daughter Amy,
Mark, Chris and their children Mark (Emily) Schueffner, Sarah (Brandon)
Miota, Scott, Kay and their children Allie (fiancé Malcom Callis) Kober,
Danny (Amber) Christel, and Jackie (Phil) Plagemann, Robert, Casey
and their children Jordan (Boon) Phonesaythip, Dualy Schueffner (Kaila
Bricco) and Danielle Schueffner. He is further survived by Joan’s
children that he loved dearly, Jack (Sandy) Gehr and her children, Heide
(Bruce) Doolittle and their children Aaron Doolittle (Katie Mayer), and
Jared Doolittle (Dan Koerber). Kurt Gehr (Rebecca Stroschein) and his
son Karson. Also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife Joan, Marvin is preceded in death by his
parents Marvin and Anna, his sister Audrey Wimmer.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Vincent Hospital ICU and
Sharon Richardson Hospice for their wonderful care and compassions.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at
Ballhorn Chapels, 1201 N. 8
th St. Sheboygan, with Pastor Nicole
Herda officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on
Friday, January 5, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the
funeral home. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in
Kohler.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sharon Richardson
Community Hospice.
